La Cevicheria offers a slice of Peru right in the heart of Paris’s 2nd arrondissement, focusing on fresh, vibrant ceviche and other coastal specialties that are both light and satisfying. Located on Rue Bachaumont, this restaurant draws in those looking to balance a heavy day of Parisian indulgence with something brighter and more refreshing. It’s a spot well suited for diners appreciating meticulous dish composition and a modern take on traditional Peruvian flavors.

The atmosphere here feels open and relaxed, with enough space to keep a casual vibe without feeling cramped. It’s welcoming for groups and families alike, and you’ll notice a diverse crowd from local food enthusiasts to curious travelers. Weekday evenings can be quieter, offering a calm setting to enjoy the meal, while busier times might bring a livelier buzz that adds to the experience without overwhelming conversation.

The menu revolves around ceviches — including options like tuna and dorade crafted with zesty, citrus-forward “tiger milk” and soy-based Nikkei sauces — paired thoughtfully with sides such as quinoa salad or ginger rice. The mushroom ceviche is another highlight, showing attention to variety beyond the classic seafood. Complementing the food, the bar features well-balanced Pisco cocktails including Pisco Sours and more inventive blends like Pisco Cosmos, which balance acidity and sweetness in a way that matches the dishes well.

Service seems to be a mixed experience; staff are often friendly and quick, maintaining a pleasant and approachable atmosphere. However, there have been occasions when attentive clearing of plates after courses could improve, which slightly interrupts the dining flow especially when enjoying desserts like the Peruvian rice pudding or tres leches cake.

Overall, La Cevicheria feels like a thoughtful refuge for anyone wanting a lighter counterpoint to heavier Parisian meals — especially on warmer days or after a few courses elsewhere. It works well as a casual sit-down meal destination where freshness and a clean palate are priorities, and where a well-crafted Pisco sour can be savored slowly.

As Peruvian, I would say the ceviche is really similar of the authentic one, tasty and looking fresh. Tres leches cake also really good. However, my observation it will be just for the service, after we finish our food, no one came to pick us our dirty plates, we ate the dessert having them around. Service must improve.

The place serves excellent Peruvian caviche which comes with a bowl of white rice. Sometimes you want something less heavy and healthy. And this is the place. May be after a heavy French course lunch with bountiful desert, you want something lighter. Caviche is fresh and acidity of citron washes your mouth clean. I recommend a pisco sour along with it. Place is spacious and kid friendly, if your kid likes fish in an adventurous flagrance.

Each dish was excellent and super fresh. We had guacamole and then a dorade and tuna ceviche, one with a soy based sauce on the tuna and the other with”tiger milk” and it was delightful, each with Peruvian corn accompaniment and the choice of ginger rice(good) or quinoa salad (better) on the side. Don’t miss this place. Really good and creative non alcoholic drinks to choose from.

Service is top!! Everyone is kind, smiling and quick. Our order was taken pretty fast and the dishes came right away! Bravo! The restaurant decoration and vibe is great! Ceviche was very good! The only thing that the chef might want to improve is the Tres Leches. As a Peruvian I can tell that the cake must be spongy and moist, but flavor was good. Thank you for a wonderful night!

The restaurant right next to the apartment where we're staying! We went on a quiet Monday night, but it is usually filled with a lot of eager diners. The food was delicious, so fresh and perfectly presented. Unusual combinations of dishes and variety. Will definitely come again. Had ceviche, and the meat and home made chips and cheese. Like nothing we've ever had. Highly recommend.
